“Makerversity turned five. We celebrated our journey so far through five member stories. Studio Ini, FUZL, Humanising Autonomy and ADAY.”
Studio Ini - Joined 2014
Nassia Inglessis founded her experiential design studio, Studio INI, in 2014. Their focus is ‘augmented materiality,’ bringing the material world closer to human interaction and human intention, how we can actually make material move and flex and respond and carry information. Studio INI practices across disciplines of computation, material and neuroscience, engineering and biology to couple rigorous design research with public engagement through experiential installations. Her work has been exhibited at the V&A and the last two London Design Biennales - her work this year, ΑΝΥΠΑΚΟΗ, featured as the central courtyard installation at Somerset House.
FUZL - Joined 2016
Fuzl addresses the reality of small apartment living, designing beautiful furniture that can be assembled, stored and reassembled in seconds - maximising space in small homes. The initial short production run sold out instantly and gained accreditation and backing by The Design Council. No fuss, flat-pack furniture.
Humanising Autonomy - Joined 2017
Humanising Autonomy builds human-centered tools that define how autonomous systems interact with people, developing solutions for two-way communication between pedestrians and autonomous vehicles. Using culture and context specific predictions, they capture the full complexity of human behaviour in urban environments around the world.
ADAY - Joined 2017
Welcome to a new standard of clothing: a wardrobe simplified with seasonless, technical staples. ADAY raised the bar for your wardrobe by reinventing classic staples to be consciously designed. Each piece of ADAY clothing is made from high performance fabrics in innovative factories, prioritising sustainability at every step of the process. Loved by feminists + visionaries, entrepreneurs + activists, travelers + doers. This is ADAY.
